22nd January 2019

Feeling a bit more optimistic this week. Had physio last night and I feel battered with pain in left hip and back which wasn't there before.  Probably just bruising.  However right side, which is where I've had the issues seems to be improving.  Been for a slow swim today which went so so. Planning to have a short run later this week.  Trying to stay positive. New outlaw half race,  "Outlaw X" anounced for September.  Thinking of entering.

I have a back injury.  I've never had an injury last this long without any real light at the end of the tunnel.  I've been seeing Kirsty Cooper for it, but to be honest I feel no further forward than I did early December. I've a half marathon (Marriotts Way) in 4 weeks, which I won't be doing. My finger is hovering over the Ringland half cancellation in 6 weeks. My ironman in June (Lakesman) is also a doubt.  I've already enquired about withdrawing. I'm way past the point of frustrated and its really getting me down.  I have the odd week where I feel a bit better so I have a jog or a short bike, then boom, back to square one. All I can do is stretch, so I seem to be turning this into a competitive sport!  Oh and I'm probably borderline addicted to anti-inflammitories. So to sum up 2019 so far, I have declining base fitness, increasing stress ...
